An event was held by the National Associations of Azerbaijani municipalities (city, town and village) in connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev. First, a bas-relief of the National Leader was visited in the administrative building of the National Associations of Azerbaijan municipalities and a bouquet of flowers was placed in front of it. Speakers at the event called "Heydar Aliyev and local self-government" held by the National Associations of Azerbaijani municipalities talked about the unparalleled services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev for our state and people. It was reported that experienced politician and statesman Heydar Aliyev attached special importance to local self-government as the most important form of citizens' participation in state administration. Evaluating self-government as an important area of the ongoing democratization process in our country, National Leader Heydar Aliyev also defined the main directions of the state policy related to municipalities and paid special attention and care to its development. The main priorities of the municipal institute were determined by the great leader Heydar Aliyev. At the event, it was emphasized that the policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was successfully implemented under the leadership of the country's president, Ilham Aliyev. It was also stated that the establishment of local self-government in Azerbaijan is related to the tradition of the great leader.
