An online meeting was held on "Promotion of cashless payments in municipalities and discussion of difficulties". At the meeting organized by the National Association of Municipalities of Azerbaijan, the issues of using the possibilities of the HEP platform in a broader form in the centralized collection of payments to the local (municipal) budget were discussed. At the meeting, views were exchanged on the full provision of transparency and accountability in the local tax and payment processes of the country's municipalities. In an online meeting attended by representatives of 26 banks, the possibilities of making municipal payments only through HOP were discussed. Adil Ahmadov, director of "Municipal Online Service Center" LLC, said that for the purpose of correct accounting of income and expenses in municipalities, making all payments through HOP will increase transparency in this field. Ali Akbarli, the representative of the National Associations of Azerbaijan Municipalities, the executive secretary of the National Association of City Municipalities, said that the correct establishment of the tax accounting system in municipalities by the National Associations of Azerbaijan Municipalities representing 1,606 municipalities in the country will enable them to sufficiently strengthen their financial capabilities. Ensuring accountability and transparency in this area is one of the important conditions for the organization of normal activities of municipalities.
